As part of Eastgate Studio’s annual open exhibition “Beverley” I have been working on a range of prints to shine a light on our beautiful town.
The exhibition, showcased the diversity of printmaking, and featured both established and experimental techniques. My display included a range of printmaking methods, including collagraph, linocut, screenprints, botanical printmaking some with and some without chine-collé.
My plan is to continue adding to this collection by focussing on street scenes and unexpected views of Beverley. I particularly enjoy the juxtaposition of modern-day street and road markings against the historical buildings and street furniture. The town sings to me so I also utilise the layering of print and colour from my sounds series for an alternative aesthetic of the town and its buildings.
